Jammin With Sasha

The Heart Behind the Beat
Jammin with Sasha is a therapeutic, music-based program that celebrates inclusion, creativity, and movement for children of all abilities and exceptionalities. Through rhythmic drumming, creative movement, and mindfulness, Sasha creates a joyful space where children ages 2–6 can express their emotions freely in mind and body.
Formerly known as Let’s Jam Programs, the initiative has evolved since 2011 into a dynamic platform that brings music, accessibility, and awareness together — promoting sensory engagement, emotional regulation, concentration, and social connection. Using percussion as a bridge for communication and creativity, Sasha transforms every session into a rhythm-filled journey of confidence, self-expression, and belonging.
Rooted in cultural awareness and global rhythms, Jammin’ with Sasha highlights the beauty of world music while offering adapted programs, educational content, and birthday experiences designed to nurture inclusion and joy in every beat.
Meet Sasha Brathwaite
Founder, Educator, Percussionist, and Autism Advocate
Driven by a lifelong passion for music and a deep commitment to inclusion, Sasha Brathwaite has been transforming lives through rhythm and movement for over 15 years. As an educator within the York District School Board’s Special Education department, she brings a wealth of experience supporting children and adults with developmental and behavioral differences.
With a background in Social Services and a natural gift for percussion, Sasha founded the original Let’s Jam Program in 2011 — inspired by her sister Camille, who has autism. While drumming together, Sasha noticed remarkable improvements in Camille’s focus, communication, and emotional calm. That life-changing discovery became the heartbeat of her mission: to help every child connect through music and feel empowered to shine.
A percussionist since 2003, Sasha continues to use her djembe drum as a universal language of love, joy, and inclusion. Her programs goes beyond entertainment — they foster self-esteem, emotional wellness, social skills, and community connection. Today, Jammin’ with Sasha stands as a movement that harmonizes rhythm with purpose, proving that music truly unites us all.
